Hello, my name is Hao, and I'm a piano technician from the Piano Technician Academy. My journey first began when I was a kid. I learnt to play acoustic guitar out of curiosity and passion. Then drums, music production software, then eventually piano as the one-for-all instruments.

As I got into piano playing, I've always made it a point to find an acoustic piano in person wherever I go. To feel the times and emotions these instruments capture. I've realized that there are still many around. But the tone of these pianos are often old, out of tune, and rusty. That's when I wanted to try to learn to tune it the same way I did with the guitar. As expected, the piano sounded way better after tuning. That really gave me a perspective as how much life these instruments carry in their tone. During this time, I also stumble across videos of the Piano Doctor on youtube. That inspired me to become a full time piano technician.

After finished the course from the Piano Technician Academy, along with guidance from local technicians, I am now fully involving in the piano technician world. Include attending the annual Piano Technician Guild conference, along with their monthly local chapter in San Diego to learn from the best technician there are. I've also done extensive research of my own through books and online resources. All for the purpose if making your instruments sounds the best it can.
